Overexposed bio picture

Welcome to Overexposed

In July of 2006 I started a blog as a way of showcasing my images to family and friends.  I was feeling very self-conscious about blogging (and still do - it's all a bit pretentious and self-promoting, don't you think?) and named the blog Overexposed because it played off a photography term and aptly described how I was feeling at the time.

Over the years, Overexposed has evolved into an online journal of sorts ... a place where I can showcase things both silly and serious and keep in touch with clients, family and friends alike.

Thank you (so very much) for stopping by.

xoxo,

Rebecca

One Week Later …

One week ago, I nervously boarded an airplane with all four of my monkeys and am happy to report that we survived our day of travel. Owen was a maniac and the logistics of traveling alone with 4 kids plus a car seat was challenging, but it was surprisingly passive and pleasant for me –...

18 Days of CRAZY

June.  So far we’ve lived through nearly 18 days of it.  And those 18 days have been … interesting ones.  I think we must have offended our house brownie (anyone read The Spiderwick Chronicles?) who is now taking revenge because we’ve had a comically disastrous month.  We’ve had pests (which I absolutely can. not. tolerate.)...

My Guys

Oh how I love my monkeys.  And since my terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad nightmare a while back I find myself enjoying them so much.  They often drive me bananas (I swear, if Joshua farts one more time in front of me I’m going to (insert various punishments here) … ) but they really are good kids, and I’m...

A Love Story

She was barely 19.  He was 22.
She had heard about him, but never met him.  And then one night at a church activity she saw him sitting with a group of friends and watched him smile (oh that smile!) and she got butterflies in her stomach.
“Who was the guy sitting next to so-and-so at the...

To My Sweet Sister “Nanny”

Happy happy birthday to my sweet, gorgeous sister Anne. Thank you for being my friend, stylist, and road trip partner-in-crime (hey, let’s jump in the car tomorrow and drive to … to … Kalamazoo. See if you can get work off and I’ll pack the car. Okay?). I love you so...

2 Reasons Why

My very brave friend Amy put in a request to stop at Mt. Rushmore on our crazy road trip last summer.  Mr. Rushmore?  Sure, why not?
Here are two reasons (among many) why I’m so glad we did:
1.  We raced a storm up the mountain and got to experience this as we pulled into...

He Looks Sweet

And he is.
But he learned to spit out his food this weekend.  At first it was an occasional thing.  Tonight, however, 90% of his dinner went in his mouth and came right back out after gumming it for a few minutes.  His pureed sweet potatoes dripped down his chin and onto his shirt.  The rest...

2008 Mud-babies in 2009

2008 was a good year for our branch of the Mudrick family: each of the married kids had a baby.  Two girls and two boys to be exact.  This past August we all gathered at my in-laws to welcome Dr. Dan’s youngest sibling home from missionary work in Taiwan, and decided a 2008 Mud-baby portrait...
