Overexposed bio picture

Welcome to Overexposed

In July of 2006 I started a blog as a way of showcasing my images to family and friends.  I was feeling very self-conscious about blogging (and still do - it's all a bit pretentious and self-promoting, don't you think?) and named the blog Overexposed because it played off a photography term and aptly described how I was feeling at the time.

Over the years, Overexposed has evolved into an online journal of sorts ... a place where I can showcase things both silly and serious and keep in touch with clients, family and friends alike.

Thank you (so very much) for stopping by.

xoxo,

Rebecca

August in UT

I’ll be visiting family in Utah the last 2 weeks of August and I’d love to book a few photo sessions while I’m in town.  I’m happy to travel throughout Utah and Salt Lake valley.  Sessions will work the same way they do in Boston (or NC for that matter) and you can find details...

Post and Run

I don’t have much to say today – which I know doesn’t happen often enough (ha!) – but wanted to pop in and post two images I love from a recent session.
Happy Tuesday everyone!

I’m It

So, this has never happened to me before, but I’ve been "tagged" by a fellow blogger (Hi Stephanie!) and now must post 5 of my favorite things.  This is normally the kind of thing I shy away from, but I’m feeling wild and crazy today.  So here goes:
1.  See’s chocolate.  Specifically the bordeaux, milk chocolate...

Distracted

(Insert big sigh here)  I’ve been a bad blogger lately, haven’t I?  I’ve noticed the space between posts getting larger and larger.  Please accept my apologies.  I’ve been a bit . . . distracted.  I’ll try harder.  Although, posts about paint colors and home owners insurance paired with photos of boxes and packing tape might...

Sprung

Spring arrives late in the North East (or at least it seems late to me) but when it does, well . . . let’s just say it is worth the wait!  Here is evidence that Spring has sprung in Boston.

Lucky Mama

Okay, I’ll admit it.  I had low expectations for Mother’s Day.  When your husband has to work Mother’s Day weekend (year after year) you learn to lower your expectations.  But isn’t the key to happiness having low expectations?  It must be,  because my ho-hum attitude paid off and I ended up feeling spoiled and loved! ...

Real Life

I’ve had many conversations lately about perception.  We (or at least I) want others to think we hold it all together all the time.  But real life is never that polished.  It just isn’t and it shouldn’t be.  So here’s to a dirty face, snotty nose, messy house, and a silly moment.  Here’s to real...

Deep Thoughts

Just playing around with some shots from a few weeks back . . . trying to decide what I think about these rich, deep colors.  Are they me?  Also wondering why the space bar on my keyboard still doesn’t work right after waiting 45 minutes for a "genius" at the Apple store to fix it. ...

Checking In

I’ve made a discovery: life in the slow lane is nice.  In fact, I think I might stay here for a while.
But I did want to pop in and say Hi and that all is well.  I also thought I’d post an image for my good friend Amy who has been patiently waiting for me...
