Overexposed bio picture

Welcome to Overexposed

In July of 2006 I started a blog as a way of showcasing my images to family and friends.  I was feeling very self-conscious about blogging (and still do - it's all a bit pretentious and self-promoting, don't you think?) and named the blog Overexposed because it played off a photography term and aptly described how I was feeling at the time.

Over the years, Overexposed has evolved into an online journal of sorts ... a place where I can showcase things both silly and serious and keep in touch with clients, family and friends alike.

Thank you (so very much) for stopping by.

xoxo,

Rebecca

Checking In

Wanted to say Hello and thank you for the well-wishes which have really helped carry me through this week.
I said goodbye this morning to all my new friends at Duke (we’ve spent a lot of time together this week!) and was happy that my radiologist could confirm the cancer had not spread and the...

No Kidding?

I’ve had Alanis Morisette’s Ironic running through my head all day.  Why?  I had the first of two doses of radiation today (if you have no idea what I’m talking about click here).  Not even two minutes after nervously drinking a radioactive substance out of a special tungsten container (with a straw . . ....

I Puffy Heart Love

these girls!  Each time I photograph them I want to stuff them in my camera bag and bring them home with me . . . except that if I did, I wouldn’t get to chat with their Mom anymore and she’s just as wonderful as her girls.  So, I’ll cross my fingers and hope I...

Reflections from the Bathroom Floor

Last night, after dinner, I sat down at my computer and got hit with a wave of nausea so thick that I promptly got up, announced to Dan I must be dying and laid down on the cold tile of my bathroom floor and didn’t move for hours.  Any variation in the environment (sound, motion,...

Boston Brothers

These two belong to my good friend Jenny who has had me over 4 times in the last 3 years to photograph her little guys – a real treat given that I get to photograph and catch up with a good friend at the same time!
Presenting "Buster" and "Pete-y":

‘Tis a Gift to be Simple

First of all, THANK YOU!!! for all the brilliant suggestions re: Halloween candy.  My general rule of thumb for anything I do with my kids is, "Will they be talking about this in therapy one day?" and I was worried that the "big" monkeys would catch on to my evil plan and be traumatized for...

Sugar High

We’ve definitely been riding the highs and lows of the sugar roller-coaster ride that marks the post-Halloween season.  In fact, I think all the candy at our house might mysteriously disappear . . . really soon.  And not just into my tummy, but into Dan’s too.  Ha!  No really, has anyone out there had the...
