Four Things to Make Your February Less Dreary
Warm and fuzzy recommendations along with a decadent chocolate ice cream.
Anyone else in a mid-February funk? The gray, dreary weather has settled into my bones and my body just feels sooooo lethargic. And while I’ve been begrudgingly going through the motions of my life despite feeling like it’s time to hibernate, I’ve also been seeking out ways to boost the happy chemicals in my brain. And here’s what has sparked a little bit of joy recently.
After listening to a depressing audiobook while simultaneously reading a totally different depressing physical book, I was THRILLED when I somehow got to skip the digital library line and download Sarah Adam’s new release, Beg, Borrow or Steal to my kindle. This is the 3rd book in her When in Rome series, but totally stands on its own. If you like witty banter and need a happy ending right now, this romantic comedy is for you. It was just the serotonin boost I needed.
This ice cream from Jeni’s is the dirtiest, filthiest chocolate ice cream you’ll ever have. A post-dinner spoonful straight from the carton should be required eating this time of year.
If it’s not warm and comfy, I can’t handle it on my body right now. This sweatshirt from Athleta has been a soft, fuzzy favorite for the last few months and my husband always comments how great it looks. I love wearing it with a pair of high waisted trouser jeans and some fun sneakers so I look put together but feel like I’m wrapped in a fuzzy blanket.
Speaking of warm and fuzzy, if I can’t get warm I climb into bed and wrap this amazing heating pad around my neck. It’s honestly one of my all time favorite Amazon purchases.
Sending everyone in a cold climate a warm hug and a reminder that March is just a few weeks away.
